Excellent analysis and discussion, Sue.

I believe it to be absolutely impossible to teach the Bible objectively.
Lacking hard evidence to substantiate the instructor's "lessons", (s)he
crosses the line from teaching to preaching. Where does it end? With the
Friday collection plate or the mid-term sermon?

Good imagery, too, Sue. Your comments have created this image, in my
mind, of a group of good 'ol boy klanners gathered outside of a house,
during the holidays. One window of the house proudly depicts a large
Menorah. Another window showing an impressive Unitarian chalice. And the
white-robed klansmen standing around . . . with puzzled looks on their
faces . . . planting a wooden cross . . . and a wooden question-mark . . .
scratching their heads . . . wondering which one to light.

Thanks, Sue.
