Since the only thing that City Council seems to be worried about is a
problem that is much ado about nothing, why not go for this one too? This
rates right up there with the topless car wash problem, but since it
involves taxpayer financed employees, it probably wouldn't get passed!
"Employees of the local authority in Brooksville, near Tampa, will also
face the sack if they dress in sexually provocative clothing or go without
underwear.
It is hoped that the new dress code will make staff smarten up - and stamp
out any whiff of body odor.
The guidelines instruct employees to observe 'strict personal hygiene' at
all times, including the use of deodorant.
And they list ' the observable lack of undergarments and exposed
undergarments' as ' unacceptable attire'. The city council has approved
the dress code 4-1.
However, Mayor Joe Bernadini opposed the rules, saying the underwear edict
'takes away freedom of choice'.
Employees who turn up to work ' commando' will be sent home and will not
receive any pay for the time they are away.
But locals have been left wondering how the new law will be policed."
