[Vision2020] Justice Thomas

To a degree, your question may turn on what you mean by "stand
alone."  Yes, Justice Thomas has written independent opinions.  The
list provided by Gary appears to be just that.  Now, if you are
wanting to know how often he wrote an opinion -- with nobody else
joining his opinion -- I cannot tell you that without looking at them
all, for which I do not have the time.  I know he has done that on
occasion.

For the most part, your characterization of Justice Thomas, as one who
votes with Scalia, Alito and Roberts a very high percentage of the
time, is correct.  However, Justice Thomas has voted differently than
these justices on occasion.

the Court, which assumes a question about his acumen and capabilities
before his appointment to it. I don't have time to research all of
these, and so I appeal to the lawyers out there if anyone knows: Since
being on the Court, has Justice Thomas written an independent,
stand-alone, opinion, and has he done so in opposition to the written
views of Alito, Roberts, or Scalia?
