[Vision2020] NYTimes: In Search of Dignity

David Brooks, on BHO, in his own words:
From an interview with The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg
"... I was dazzled, I felt the tingle up my knee as Chris Matthews would say."
So, the fact that I don't find David Brooks as conservative as I might prefer, it follows that the litmus test for true conservatism must be hatred of the president? Another leap of logic that, as you never tire of reminding us, only a professional master of the subject could make.

Brooks thinks that Obama is a model of dignity. He's not in awe of Obama he just thinks he has dignity. So that makes him NOT a conservative!?!? It seems to follow that you have to hate Obama to be a true conservative. That is extreme, too extreme to appeal to the majority of voters.
I might have stated the obvious but somehow you still don't get it!

Oh yes, I read the article. I would have thought that almost anyone who has followed Mr. Brooks' career would be well aware of why I might have used the descriptives that I did. Sorry if you're new to the subject.
Regarding the most recent elective outcomes, thank you so very much for your emphatic statement of the all too obvious. You have finally found an area at which you might truly excel! Since Brooks seems to stand in awe of your deity of the moment, it really seems inappropriate to refer to him as conservative, moderate or otherwise and it wouldn't seem to matter much to me whether he's offended or not. As a BHO supplicant, he's part of the problem and none of the solution.

Did you read the Huffington Post article, Crabtree? It was pretty funny but I don't see any mention of Brooks being a "liberal lapdog" or having "quasi-conservative credentials." Where did you get that from? Maybe he's not offensive or narrow-minded enough to fit your definition!
But guess what? Repubican's LOST the last election for the White House and Democrats now have a super-majority in congress. So you might consider not offending the few moderate conservatives who haven't jumped the sinking ship. Or perhaps not! Palin in 2012!

OP-ED COLUMNIST: In Search of Dignity
By DAVID BROOKS
The old dignity code that George Washington once followed has not survived modern life. Every week there are new scandals featuring people who simply do not know how to act....
