Two things.

1)  I do not recall anybody telling us that we have to hope President 
Obama succeeds.  I do it voluntarily as a sense of patriotism and hope.

2)  In the absence of "being told", is Mr. Lamebaugh implying that there 
are Americans (or USians, or whatever) hoping that President Obama fails.  
Wait a minute, there IS our local blahg.
