Please don't get me wrong, despite Mrs. Lund's overactive imagination, I'm not the current administrations biggest fan. The prescription drug benefit, a general inability to reduce or even slow down spending, and the current trend toward socializing private industry by way of the federal bailout programs (all symptoms of the same problem, really) by themselves would keep GW from being my favorite chief executive. That said, there are positives though I doubt you'll see them as such. The tax cuts were a early step in the right direction. Preventing any kind of 9/11 type follow on attack against our country or interests, and a high terrorist body count strike me as positives as well.

I've missed you, Gary.
But far from a life of never-ending sorrows, mine is quite rich. Rich, but well aware of the disaster of the last eight years, courtesy of a man I believed then and continue to believe now was given to us as a chastening, not a blessing, by a Sovereign God.
What positive things do you see as having come from this presidency?

Brilliant? Shocking news flash, Frank Rich still doesn't have anything good to say about the Bush presidency. Who'd a thunk it. Isn't this pretty much the same piece that Rich has been writing for the last eight years? If your "heartbreaking reality" is dispensed by a third rate theatre critic via the New York Times Op-Ed page, life must be a never ending series of sorrows.
