Bill,

Thanks for the clarification. I really like the pound for pound of food donation idea.

Donovan

The Co-op is not matching any donations given by shoppers in the Impulse Giving program.  The Co-op will total all donations and send the funds to the recipient groups.  The goal is to facilitate and enable shoppers to make small donations to their favorite groups easily.

The Co-op matching program is the food bank donations.  The Co-op will match (pound for pound) all non-perishable food donations left at the Co-op during the month of Dec.

Bill,

Is the Co-Op going to match any of the donations given by its shoppers, or is it simply acting as an alternative to writing a check directly to the charities you listed?

Thanks for the clarification.

Moscow Food Co-op Launches Giving Program

Moscow Food Co-op shoppers can now donate to local non-profit groups when making other purchases at the cash register. Through the Co-op's new Impulse Giving Program, shoppers may donate any amount to non-profit organizations participating in the program.

At the checkout counter, customers can choose the organization and the amount they would like to give. The cashier will ring up the donation along with the purchase. All donations will be paid out to the organization each month.
