Steed, Billing file for council seats

Moscow City Councilman Walter Steed and newcomer Scott Billing made their
candidacies official Monday, filing their declarations as candidates for
any of the three City Council seats open in the November election.

The city's official candidate filing period began Monday and ends at 5
p.m. Sept. 4. Steed and Billing were the lone candidates to file on the
first day.

Council seats currently filled by Steed, John Weber and Bill Lambert as
well as Mayor Nancy Chaney's position are up for election this fall.

Chaney has announced her plans for re-election, and Weber has said he
plans to challenge for her seat.

Other candidates who have not filed with the city but have filed treasurer
certifications with Latah County include radio marketing consultant Dennis
Deccio and lifelong Moscow resident Tim Brown.

Question, Visionaires: Is anybody familiar with Scott Billing, Dennis
Deccio, or Tim Brown (Wasn't he a wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders?)?

Seeya round town, Moscow.

students are not very active in local elections (thank goodness!)."
