NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION

 

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:  That the General Election to be
held in and for the City of Moscow, Idaho, will be held on Tuesday, the
3rd of November, 2009.   The election is held for the purpose of
electing three (3) Council members for a term of four (4) years and a
Mayor for a term of four (4) years.  Candidates for City elected office
are required to file a Declaration of Candidacy with the City Clerk.
The Declaration must specify the office sought and affirm that the
individual is a qualified city elector (meaning at least 18 years of
age, a U.S. citizen, the candidate's primary residence must be within
the City, the address of the candidate's voter registration must match
the residence address provided on the candidate's Declaration, and the
candidate must be a resident of the City for at least thirty (30) days
prior to submitting their Declaration).  The Declaration of Candidacy
must be accompanied by a nonrefundable filing fee of forty dollars ($40)
or a Petition of Candidacy signed by at least five (5) qualified City
electors and approved by the Latah County Clerk's Office.  A treasurer
for the campaign must be certified as well.  The deadline for filing
Declarations of Candidacy is Friday, September 4, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
local time.  Declarations of Candidacy are available at City Hall in the
office of the City Clerk at 206 E. 3rd Street, 3rd Floor, from the hours
of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
