Your statement here is ironic. You continually stite data that is not verifiable and ignore anything that does not fit your dogma. You what to believe anything that will cast Bush in the worst possible light. I don't like a lot of what he has done either, but he is basically a descent person. As to the FBI report that you sited, what is described there is abuse and should not be condoned. Some of these things may well have occurred, but I do not believe it was routine or authorized by some higher authority such as Bush. What that did occurred, went against the direction of the those in high authority and those that were abusive to prisoners were reprimanded.
If you do not believe that valuable information was gain ed from KSM then your are calling Hayden a lier. According to what I have heard waterboardings were tightly controlled. They were restricted to short sessions with a physician in attendance to make sure there was no physical harm done. Self defense is a basic human right for both the individual and society as a whole. To not do so is suicidal or the equivalent of a death wish. To claim that the temporary discomfort of an individual out ranks saving lives is more that just stupid it is suicidal.
What is currently being proposed in prosecuting Bush is nothing other than a political witch hunt designed to distract people from the socialistic agenda and to permanently destroy any oposition. I would not be opposed to a non-parisian Warren type commission to investigate what really happened and who was responsible. This might put an end to unsubstantiated political motivated charges. This should be a balanced group. possible members might be: Robert Bork, Ken Starr, Bob Bennett(Bill's brother), Sam Irwin, Joe Lieberman and Leon Jawarski( if he is still around).
Roger
