Donovan,

I don't think that hatred of gays is particular to any one religion.  
Why on this very town there are Christians who hate gays. That doesn't  
mean we should draw any conclusions about Christians in general or our  
"Christian nation."

Like you I condemn radical views from any religious point of view.  
Religion cannot justify wrong action.
