Moscow Arts Commission Seeks Mayor's Arts Awards Nominations

 

Moscow, Idaho, September 25, 2008 - The Moscow Arts Commission is
seeking nominations from the community to recognize individuals,
organizations and patrons who have shown substantial support of the arts
for the 2008 Mayor's Arts Awards. Nomination forms may be found on line
at http://www.moscow-arts.org/Nomination%20Form.pdf or picked up at the
Third Street Gallery in City Hall.  Completed nomination forms should be
delivered to the Arts Office, Room 106 at Moscow City Hall located at
206 E. Third Street. 

 

Nominations must be received by Wednesday, October 8, 2008.  Please
include the following information: describe the contributions that make
this individual or organization worthy of consideration for the Mayor's
Arts Award. Supporting materials such as articles, resumes or additional
letters of support from the community demonstrating nominee's expertise
is highly encouraged so the commission has sufficient information to
make their final decision.

 

The categories for awards are: Individual Excellence in the Arts, Moscow
College or University Student in the Arts, Outstanding Achievement in
Arts Education, Outstanding Contributions as a Patron of the Arts,
Outstanding Contributions as a Business Benefactor to the Arts and
Private Art with Public Impact. 

 

The Moscow Arts Commission will be the sole determining agency for the
awards presented. The commission will review all nominations, recommend
award recipients and then forward them to Mayor Nancy Chaney for final
approval. Recipients will be honored at the 1912 Center at 7 p.m. on
Thursday, October 30, 2008.
