[Vision2020] Katie Couric's Interview of Sarah Palin

So the "campaign is suspended" but the VP candidate is on Katie Couric!?!

I'm knew to this. Can someone please explain to me what it means to suspend a campaign
given that it does not prevent your VP candidate from campaigning?
