[Vision2020] Roger's response

Now that's interesting.  How do you retract a statement in a rebuttal? 
However, if you had done it before the election we would not have had to 
spend the money to defuse the situation and give lie to the statement. 
And neither Shirley nor I remember a retraction, let alone an apology.  Don 
Meyer's letter was published in the Daily News on Nov 1st and from that time 
until the vote on Nov 7,  you wrote no retraction statement for the Daily 
News, and offered no explanation other than to stand by the story. In fact, 
the day before the election in an attempt to smear her further you 
plublished an ad dealing with the pledge.  You say you retracted it 
publically in the Vision.  Well that wasn't where the charge appeared, but 
even so, it didn't happen prior to the election or I would have made a copy 
and thanked you for it.    Jim Fisher's editorial came out after the 
election on November 10, in which he said you owed Shirley an apology.  I 
guess you retracted that, because she never got one.  And unless you would 
like to post some documentation to support your claim, I really am through 
with this issue.  And I'm grateful that Shirley  hasn't had to deal with 
mudslinging in her race this year.  Of course Don Meyer may have episode #2 
just waiting.
