The following U.S. service member died while supporting combat operations in Iraq, confirmed by the Defense Department from November 14, 2008 through November 20, 2008:
 
Army Pvt. Charles Yi Barnett, 19, of Bel Air, Maryland; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. 
 
Marine Gunnery Sgt. Marcelo R. Velasco, 40, of Miami, Florida; assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, I MEF, Camp Pendleton, California.
 
Army Sgt 1st Class Miguel A. Wilson, 36, of Bonham, Texas; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.
