Hi all,
For what it's worth (and I'm guessing not much), Dale rather 'cordially' pointed out to me that his blog is not 'self proclaimed', but actually is in fact Idaho's #1 Most Influential Political Blog as called out by another blog. For the record, the exact post I was referring to was:
http://right-mind.us/blogs/blog_0/archive/2007/09/24/54812.aspx
where Dale writes 'This little blog in the middle of nowheresville is the #1 political blog in Idaho!' which I apparently mistook (or completely lied about as I often do according to Dale) as a self-proclamation.
Also, for the record, I pretty much limit my lying to cases where I'm either sparing someone's feelings or royally screwing over my closest friends with some not-very-well-thought-through prank that typically results in mayhem (and in one case a nasty divorce) along with some severe backlashes boomeranging back to me. On that note, very early in my working career -when I was still very young and unjaded - I felt that my supervisor was acting in a very unprofessional manner toward one the vendors we were working with. After one particularly ugly conference call where he demoralized the whole development team of this vendor by asking 'Is your piece-of-shit chip working yet?', I asked him after the call if he had any tact whatsoever. His response was 'No. When I worked for Sony I blew a million dollar deal because the British customer I was working with had no sense of humor.'
The moral of the story is that sometimes you should refrain from stirring the pot. To that end, my apologies to Dale. I should have known that a complete and utter annihilation of the conservative movement in American politics which included kicking hard right Republican Bill Sali from out of his house seat from one of the reddest of the red states would leave Dale in a semi-foul mood.
Cheers...

Hi
Scott,
Nice to see you
again!
I understand your
confusing and think I can help. Just remember to keep your critical
thinking skills sharp when consulting Internet resources, particularly blogs
that steal from other sources and take things out of context. Clearly,
that blogger is counting on people not looking deep enough to figure out that
his self-proclaimed “Idaho’s #1 Influential Blog” is nothing of the sort, as
Minick’s victory over Sali will show.

Idaho Election Results
The latest from
the Idaho Statesman has Walt Minnick leading 173,865 votes (51 percent) to
Sali's 170,219 (49 percent), with 953 of 956 precincts reporting. The
race hasn't been officially called yet but things are looking good for
Minnick. This is very puzzling to me since Dale's self proclaimed
'Idaho's #1 Influential Blog' routinely sings the praises of Bill Sali.
Maybe without the blog, Sali would have lost in a
landslide.
