Donovan,

Interesting how you can now define my emotions for me. Thanks for the counseling session. To which one of your personas should I make out the check?

  Sue,

It is an obsession with you, and a lot of other people. So much so, you see it even when it isn't there.

I think obsessing about a person's gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc. rather than their individual merits as people hurts your intended direction.

  Best Regards,

  Donovan

Are you asking me? My complaint regarding gender representation, was, in the first place incorrect, but in the second, not an obsession, simply a comment on a situation that happens more often than not when groups such as these are generated. Women continue to be underrepresented in the areas that deal with policy issues; whether they be religious, political, or cultural. So it does matter when we want to reach solutions that will accommodate everyone.

Why are some people so obsessed with a person's gender, race, religion, and sexual orientation? Does it matter?

      Best Regards,

      Donovan

Chris Vaughn, representing the Bahai community, is also a woman.

OOPS. I didn't see Kayle's name. Sorry for the comment. But even so, 1 of 8 isn't all that representative. Trinity Baptist, where I used to attend has never chosen to involve itself in any local Interfaith efforts. The congregation perceives that kind of involvement as a dilution of Baptist tenets.

Kayle Rice is the female pastor of the UU . . . what saddens me, though, is the decision of conservative Christian churches to not involve themselves in this.

It looks interesting--too bad, though, women on the Palouse must be thought not to have any thoughts that would be valued in this setting.
