I agree that there is reason for a lot of colored people to be resentful of whites. Not all however respond that way. See the post I sent on attitude. For an example of how different people respond I will relate two experiences I had in the Army. In San Antonio a friend and I went to a movie. It was about half way through the movie before it dawned on us that we were the only two white people there. No one payed us any attention and we were completely at ease. In Pittsburg I got lost and found myself is a colored section of town. I could see the hate in the faces of people on the street. I was vary relieved when I got out of there.

> I think it is easy to say that we are all one race, because we all agree. However, we must not ignore, or bury our heads in the sand, not recognizing that some people, including children, have a much harder time growing up and living in this country because they are discriminated against simple for their skin color.

There are those of us who recognize only ONE race among our kind. Unless you can prove to me that you are from some place beyond the stars, then you are a member of the HUMAN race. So get over it. Obama is one of us. I, for one, am sick and tired of hearing that his mother was "white" and his father "black". Like the rest of us, his mother was "female" and his father a "male". Period.

The only conclusion I can come to is that your candidate for sainthood has a huge double standard when it comes to racism and free speech. Specifically, it's OK for him and his but not so much for the melanin impoverished. You might want to put the halo on hold, your hero has clay clodhoppers.

I believe it will be viewed with the historical and social significance of JFK's "ask not" speech. Obama demonstrated a presence that I have not seen in 30 years as a voter, but that well embodied the spirit of Lucretia Mott, Mary McLeod Bethune, Frederick Douglass, Wm. Lloyd Garrison, and George Fox. Saints and heroes, all.OK, Dale -- pile on.Keely> To: vision2020 at moscow.com> From: thansen at moscow.com> Date: Wed, 19 Mar 2008 02:46:28 +0000> Subject: [Vision2020] Barack Obama's Unity Speech Today in Philadelphia> > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN_Su8ywLwk> > Seeya round town, Moscow.> > Tom Hansen> Moscow, Idaho> > "People who ridicule others while hiding behind anonymous monikers in chat-> room forums are neither brave nor clever." > > - Latah County Sheriff Wayne Rausch (August 21,> 2007)>!
