D,
Since you want to debate the minor points of my post and, as you made clear in your earlier post to Ms. Kraut, facts are of supreme importance please be advised:
Imus directed his remarks toward a NCAA Big East women's basket ball team, Rutgers. Not a high school. Not minors.
Imus used the plural when referring to the team as "hoes." He did not single anyone out.
Wright made statements he claimed were fact but which were, in reality, silly racist nonsense. (America invented AIDS/HIV as a means of genocide against blacks as an example)
BHO condemns Imus and believes he should have been thrown off the air for his single ill considered and oft apologized for remark while giving Wright his and his family's undivided attention, his endorsement, and $20,000.00 over the last twenty years. Hero worship is one thing but, how can you not smell at least a hint of a double standard?

Gary,
I disagree. Don Imus attacked a high school girl for her hair and called her a hoe for doing nothing but being a good student and a good athlete.
Wright made political statements about the country, some fact, some opinion. He did not attack people for their individual traits as a person. Nor did he attack minors in high school for their racial attributes.
Best Regards,
Donovan

So how do you square what BHO had to say about Don Imus when he made an ill considered remark in jest about a women's basketball team and the bye he gives his pastor and friend of two decades when he makes statements, represented as fact, that were far worse over a much greater period of time? The only conclusion I can come to is that your candidate for sainthood has a huge double standard when it comes to racism and free speech. Specifically, it's OK for him and his but not so much for the melanin impoverished. You might want to put the halo on hold, your hero has clay clodhoppers.

I have never in my life been so proud of someone in public office before. It was, for me, a church experience: Truth spoken prophetically, without adornment, cowardice, or guile. I believe it will be viewed with the historical and social significance of JFK's "ask not" speech. Obama demonstrated a presence that I have not seen in 30 years as a voter, but that well embodied the spirit of Lucretia Mott, Mary McLeod Bethune, Frederick Douglass, Wm. Lloyd Garrison, and George Fox. Saints and heroes, all.
OK, Dale -- pile on.
