I've been following this case since it first popped up on the Internet
several months ago.

Briefly:

Spec. Jeremy Hall decided to hold a fellowship for atheists and
freethinkers. He went though the appropriate channels and was granted
permission. Fliers were distributed. This part of the story is a
matter of official record. It is not under dispute.

>From here on, things get contentious.

At the first meeting, there were four attendees, including Major
Welborn. Welborn attended as a freethinker. In actuality, he was a
fundamentalist Christian. Welborn almost immediately broke up the
meeting, verbally berating the attendees, accusing them of of plotting
against Christians (amongst other accusations), and threatening Hall.

The lawsuit followed.

Assume that Hall is reporting things exactly as they occurred.

I don't want to ask any leading questions. Those interested in the
debate, comment. Those not interested, click delete.
