CRAPO TO HOST TALK SHOW ON ENERGY
Boise visit includes Congressional Record presentation for Kelly
Buckland
Washington, DC - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will host a three-hour live
talk radio program devoted to energy issues in Boise Tuesday as he sits
in for regular host Nate Shelman on KBOI-AM 670. Crapo, who has
collected more than a thousand e-mails from Idahoans concerned about gas
prices and energy shortages, has been entering those concerns into the
Senate Record.
"Hosting the radio program is the latest step in gathering input from
Idahoans regarding what Congress should do regarding energy issues,"
Crapo noted. "I appreciate Idahoans, and Americans, taking the
initiative to get the Congress moving on a sane energy policy that can
curb the sharp increases in costs affecting all of us and rippling
through the economy."
Crapo will be at the Boise studio to host the talk show heard across
southern Idaho on KBOI-AM 670 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1.
He will discuss energy issues, take calls from listeners, discuss the
e-mails he has received from Idahoans and how he is sharing those
concerns with his colleagues in the U.S. Senate.
On Monday, Crapo will present a Congressional Record Statement honoring
Idaho's leading advocate for people with disabilities when he meets with
Kelly Buckland, the Executive Director for the Idaho State Independent
Living Council and Board President for the National Council on
Independent Living. The State Independent Living Council will hold an
openhouse at its new offices for the event at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June
30th. The Council is now located on the second floor of the Garro
Building in downtown Boise at 816 West Bannock, Suite 202.
"As the Executive Director of the Idaho State Independent Living
Council, Kelly made it his priority to fight for equal rights and equal
protection under the law for those with disabilities, especially in
areas of fair housing and healthcare," Crapo wrote in honoring Buckland
with a Congressional Record Statement. "His outreach and advocacy has
gone beyond just the state level as well--Kelly has testified before
Congress on issues facing individuals with disabilities in his capacity
as President of the National Independent Living Council."
