Legislative Brief 

Constituents:

The House Jud and Rules Committee voted 16-0 to pass SB1260 which is the
Dog Fighting/Felony Bill.  Discussion centered on the fact that since Idaho
had its first successfully prosecuted dog fighting case in November that it
is clear that dog fighting is associated with gambling, drugs, money
laundering, and gangs.  The next step will be on the full floor of the
House probably in about 10 days.
If it passes the full chamber the Governor has already said he would sign
the bill.
