Scott,
Your own report stated that only 45% of the people would miss him. That was his personal approval rating. His personal job performance was higher, but that doesn't translate to help Al Gore.
Further, most of the 45% approval was from states that Gore didn't need help with. Florida, Missouri, Iowa, and Ohio, was where Gore needed help, Clinton was not a favorite character in those areas.
Clinton is popular in Democratic states, NOT Republican and moderate ones. That is part of the reason why Obama is sweeping states like Idaho, because people in Red states dislike him.
Using Clinton didn't help Hillary with Democratic votes, it sure wouldn't have helped Gore either with moderates and independent.
Let's not forget, Al Gore has received more votes for President than anyone else in the history of presidential elections. He didn't lose, he won, it was just stolen from him because of political machinery.
Best Regards,

Donavan,
Can you do just an inkling of fact checking before you post? Can you find any poll
- even a Republican only poll - that resulted in any Clinton approval rating below 50%
during in his second term?
Here's mine:
http://www.pollingreport.com/clinton-.htm
Here's another:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton
While Clinton's job approval rating varied over the course of his
first term, ranging from a low of 36% in mid-1993 to a high of 64%
in late-1993 and early-1994,[62] his job approval rating consistently
ranged from the high-50s to the high-60s in his second term.[63]
Clinton's approval rating reached its highest point at 73% approval
in the aftermath of the impeachment proceedings in 1998 and 1999.[64]
A CNN/USA TODAY/Gallup poll conducted as he was leaving office,
revealed deeply contradictory attitudes regarding Clinton.[65]
Although his approval rating at 68% was higher than that of any
other departing president since polling began more than seventy
years earlier, only 45% said they would miss him. While 55% thought
he "would have something worthwhile to contribute and should
remain active in public life",

Scott,
In 2000 Bill Clinton had a 42% approval rating. Campaigning with
Clinton in 2000 would have been a kiss of death. He had an even
lower rating in Florida because they forced that Cuban child
back to Castro.
Yes, Gore lost the election because Florida's Secretary of State,
Kathleen Harris, certified the wrong set of popular votes giving
the electoral votes to Bush instead of Gore. Also, Nader split the
Democratic vote in Vermont, giving the state to Bush. Gore didn't
lose the election in 2000, it was stolen from him, and Nader made
it possible. Nader doesn't have issues he is concerned with, he
is only concerned about himself. The environment has been demolished
and set back decades because Bush was allowed into office.

It's a stretch to suggest that Nader sabotaged the 2000 election.
The reason Al Gore lost was because of Al Gore himself. Under the
categories of coulda, woulda, shoulda, Gore coulda had Bill Clinton
campaigning for him instead of distancing himself from Clinton.
And Bill Clinton knows how to run a successful campaign.
I'd like to see a Clinton/Obama ticket running against a McCain/anybody
ticket. Also, it doesn't particularly matter much to me which ticket
wins, I'm just looking forward to the regime change even though
George W. Bush is basically neutered at this stage.
