According to you, Steven James Sitler, Timothy Andrew Kellis, Brandon  
Elliott, James C. Leonard, and Mark Lankford all deserve best friends, a  
Christmas card, and a criminal defense.

Sunil provides them -- and/or others like them -- a criminal defense. You  
also condemn Sunil for his wasting his intellect and abilities by choosing  
that path.

Does this mean that only the stupid and incapable should become public  
defenders?

It is far more noble to perform tasks that earn one approbation than to  
perform tasks that earn praise.
