[Vision2020] Needy Pets

While seeking a place to make a clothing contribution, a fellow Intolerista suggested the Troy Food and Clothing Bank and Goodwill.
 
Although their contributions are primarily (in the order of 99.99%) for human use and consumption, I am certain that the Troy Food and Clothing Bank and Goodwill will also accept pet food.
 
I will be going over there tomorrow to make my contribution.  If interested, I will check on their willingness to accept pet food, ok?

We will be making a contribution to the animal shelter.
 
We are concerned about pets in needy families/situations such as older people living alone with their cherished pets, but on a small fixed income.  We'd like to find a way to help to get food to these pets.

I believe you can contact the folks at the animal shelter (883-1186)
 
I know they take donations of food there for the animals they are dealing with.

This year our family is mostly donating gifts to charities instead of gifting each other.

 

I was surprised to find that the local food bank does not offer pet food to needy families.  Pets are important family members and need/deserve food too.

 

Does anyone know of any local agency  provides pet food to needy families?
