And he is right, of course, as anyone who has had the enlightening
experience of actually living outside the US -- as a child or as an
adult -- would know.

Political junkets are pathetically contrived dog and pony shows -
photo opportunities -- that reveal exactly as much as the politico
handlers want to be revealed.  Useless and stage-managed.  Spoon-fed
pablum.  You get the idea.
