The following "Letters to the Editor" were extracted from the August 25,
2008 edition of the Army Times.
------------------------------------
I noticed two articles in the July 28 edition related to the 13
electrocution deaths of Americans in Iraq and at least 283 electrical
fires at American military facilities in Iraq from August 2006 through
January 2007. Besides the 13 dead, an article reported there are many more
who have been injured, some seriously, by shocks.
So far in what I have read, KBR declined to attend the hearings on the
matter. Even worse, KBR was put in charge to inspect all the facilities it
maintains.
Then, in a duh moment, KBR says its investigation of its own work had
not turned up any connections.
Does that surprise anyone? It really shouldnt.
Whose great idea was it to put KBR in charge if investigating this
problem? Why isnt an independent company or organization doing the
investigation? I just dont get it.

Your July 28 edition was not the first mention I have heard of the faulty
wiring problems that beset our troops in Iraq [Report: Shocks in Iraq
almost daily, News Breaks].
To think that we have actually lost soldiers due to this makes me want to
puke. Prosecute those contractors responsible for the deaths of those
soldiers and vote the rest of the problem out of office.

This ignorant cover-up extends way beyond the pale.
Where is the accountability?

students are not very active in local elections (thank goodness!)."
