In the past McCain got favorable treatment from the press, but not now that he is the GOP candidate. He made several trips to Irag and visited the troops with next to noi coverage.
For the general public you may have a point about piling on Obama. That should not hold true for the media.
Obama said " If everyone would just inflate their tire it would save as much energy as what one would get from drilling of the coast of California" That may not be an exact quote but it is close. I think most people already have their tire inflated to the appropriate level. Some say it may take ten years before drilling offshore for oil to reach the consumer. Others think it could be a lot sooner. If we had drilled ten years ago as we should have we would now have that oil. This in no reason not to drill. There is now getting around the fact that what Obama said was "ignorant".
