City of Moscow Hosts Safe Routes to School Discussion

 

Moscow, Idaho, April 11, 2008 - The City of Moscow Administrative
Department is hosting a community meeting on Wednesday, April 23, 2008,
City Hall, First Floor, Mayor's Conference Room, 6:30 p.m., to bring
interested organizations and citizens together to talk about long-term
planning for Safe Routes to School (SR2S).  Discussion will include
infrastructure development, education, and encouragement and enforcement
components of the program.   The following topics will be presented:

 

*	Brief overview of the City of Moscow and University of Idaho
SR2S collaborative project. 

 

*	Discussion of the potential roles and responsibilities of a
community-wide SR2S committee.  

 

*	Brief discussion of past and current planning and projects to
increase access to safe routes to school. 

 

*	Discuss strategies and opportunities to engage the community to
identify and prioritize needed infrastructure improvements as well as
education, enforcement and encouragement activities.
