[Vision2020] It Was Forty Years Ago Today (April 4, 1968)

I remember the day very well. I was seven, and it was the first time I'd ever seen my father cry. My parents were very active in the civil rights movement, and Dr. King's assassination affected them and their work very deeply. That work isn't done. Not by any means, and not here on the Palouse, where we have bigotry and indifference roiling in an ugly pot filled and stirred by those who claim the name of Christ -- the Christ with whom Dr. King's soul is now at rest.

May God bless all those who work for justice, peace, and righteousness.
