[Vision2020] Gritman's Incompetence on CNN

Tommy Boy who cannot read directions on a medicine bottle wrote,

  I don't need to look for a reason to muck GMC, it is all over the national news how messed up they are. 

  I would say I am pleased that Hansen goes to Gritman, but that would just be cruel.

  PS. What relevance is the gender of the ER physician? Is this important to you, it isn't to me and you should not judge a Doctor based on this irrelevant information-that is advice you can choose to ignore and am sure you will.

FYI, Arnie:  It was an ER physician that had taken the initial steps in diagnosing my wife and administering the appropriate medication and actions.  Subsequent to her (that's right, the ER physician was female) diagnosis and admission into the hospital, Rodna was monitored 24/7 by staff members to whom I will never, to my satisfaction,  be able to express my sincerest appreciation.  These people, through their diligence and dedication, epitomize the medical profession standards.  For that, and the care they provided my wife, I will be forever grateful.

So, Arnie:  If you are shopping for an excuse to muck the Gritman Medical Center, I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere.

  You might want to verify that statement. It is my understanding the E.R. Docs are in fact, Gritman employees.

  On a Sunday morning in June of 2006 my wife was struggling just to climb a few stairs.  I rushed her over to Gritman Medical Center where she was diagnosed with extreme, life-threatening pneumonia.  Her lungs were at less than 30% capacity.  The Gritman staff immediately dispatched EMTs to our apartment to do some sort of oxygen check.  Our apartment was given a clean bill of health.  It was determined that her doctor at the time had prescribed the wrong medicine in the wrong dosage for an ongoing ailment she has had for a long time. 

  Needless to say, we changed doctors rather quickly after Rodna had been released after having spent ten days in Gritman's ICU and six days in their critical care unit. 

  As far as I am concerned, I and Rodna will be forever thankful to Gritman and their professionally caring staff for being here in Moscow.  The alternative is simply to scary to consider.

    Over the past 30 or so years every member of my family has been in Gritman hospital for some treatment or another, and all 3 of our grandchildren were born there.  I have always appreciated the care given to the most important people in my life.  Had I had any reason to suspect other than outstanding treatment from highly accomplished medical personnel, I would have taken them somewhere else, but I had no reason to do that.  I have confidence in the care the Gritman staff provides to the citizens of this area and I continue to be grateful we have a facility to meet our needs--one that continues to provide additional services to this community as the medical center continues to grow.

  I'll "avoid Gritman," as Donovan says, by eating healthy, exercising, not smoking, not drinking too much, and flossing every night.  Should those things fail me, though, and I need hospitalization, or should something sudden come up, you can bet I'll be heading down Main Street.  Not "in spite of Gritman's reputation," but because of it.

    We are blessed by the presence of Gritman Hospital in our community. If and when Donovan's  accomplishments equal even a thousandth part of the contribution that Gritman Hospital, its staff and board members have made for over a hundred years, then perhaps he will have some credibility in his vague, ill-founded complaints.  I am beyond pity for you, (and even beyond disgust) Donovan, but for your own sake, and  to retain even a modicum of self-respect, knock it the hell off.

    I want to remind people, avoid Gritman whenever possible. 

    Some might explain this as a simple clerical error. But if this guy was a diabetic, allergic to certain medications, or taking medications that could react badly to a medication administered because they have the wrong record, it could be fatal. 

    Basic 101 treatment is ALWAYS first ask, "Do I have the right person?" This has to be checked with birth date and/or social security number. 

    Nurses get fired and could lose their license for this type of error.
