I think you are wrong in rejecting Tom Hansen's request to videotape.
If the Chamber really believes in open-ness, this is one way to show it. Is the Chamber a good-old-boys club, or does it serve the public?
After all these are candidates for public office whose words will be audio-recorded by a radio station, and likely written about by print media. I think the public has the right to see a video of this public discussion. And I think the candidates should expect to be video-recorded in such a public forum.
Please reconsider

Tom,
Give a guy some time to respond! I'm not at the desk 24/7...
Our letter of invitation to the candidates didn't mention videotaping. I don't want to introduce a variable to them that they were not aware of in advance. Radio Free Moscow will be audio taping, though. I hope that satisfies your needs for documentation.
Here are the details you asked about:
10/17/07, noon, Washington Room, University Inn
Please RSVP to the Chamber at 882-1800.
See you there Tom!

Unless I hear differently from you I will assume that video-taping of Wednesday's candidates forum is permitted and will proceed accordingly
Thank you for your concern in this matter.

Mr. Keim -
I sincerely appreciate your direct and immediate response, something that has been sorely missed from the Chamber of Commerce. It is most refreshing to know that the chamber will be responsive to the Moscow community. Thank you.
Two questions:
1) When and where will the CofC City Council Candidates Forum be conducted at the University Inn?
2) Is video-taping the forum permitted?
Thank you for your anticipated response.
Seeya round town, Moscow.
