October Community Conversations!!!
What about Neighborhood Planning Organizations?
Monday, October 8 from noon to 1 P.M.
Centennial Room, University Inn
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Join us from noon to 1 PM MONDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2007, to talk about citizen participation and planning for Moscow neighborhoods (no host lunch available. set prices this time for either sandwiches or salad at the University Inn/Best Western; lunch is not mandatory!).
We'll be taking a look at Moscow's FIRST experiment in neighborhood planning from 1979-83 with the Fort Russell Neighborhood Planning Organization and considering how 21st Century Moscow could benefit from a neighborhood planning structure. Could planning decisions reflect neighbor concerns and creative, profitable development opportunities? Could citizens make their voices heard at a time when it mattered to the decision-making? Could local officials, elected and appointed, be held accountable for positive, productive outcomes for our community's future? Neighborhood planning organizations in other communities have made a difference in many other towns across the nation and especially in the Northwest.
Learn about neighborhood planning organizations and share your views. More information or questions, contact Linda Pall, Moscow City Council, 882-7255 or lpall at moscow.com
