Christopher Widmer stated:

"Nobody that I know of has said "that US slavery was OK," and when you call
someone who has NOT said that an idiot for allegedly having said that, it is
you who becomes not only an idiot but also a slanderer."

>From "Southern Slavery As It Was" (written by Steve Wilkins and Douglas
Wilson) at:

http://tinyurl.com/26gpaa

"Slavery as it existed in the South was not an adversarial relationship with
pervasive racial animosity. Because of its dominantly patriarchal character,
it was a relationship based upon mutual affection and confidence. There has
never been a multi-racial society which has existed with such mutual
intimacy and harmony in the history of the world. The credit for this must
go to the predominance of Christianity. The gospel enabled men who were
distinct in nearly every way, to live and work together, to be friends and
often intimates. This happened to such an extent that moderns indoctrinated
on 'civil rights' propaganda would be thunderstruck to know the half of it."

Perhaps Joe Campbell would have been more accurate had he said that Doug
Wilson not only said those words, he wrote, published, and sold those words.

As far as Steve Wilkins is concerned . . .

More on him (and the Federal Vision) later.

"I'll just speak for our church, in Christ Church. If I found out that a
member of our church or a church officer was lying to non-believers in the
community, as a way to get by or protect themself or protect his reputation,
yes, he'd be disciplined."

What's at issue is not whether something is offensive, but whether something
is true. Go ahead and call anyone an idiot if that makes you feel better,
but please stick to the facts and not your vain imaginings. Nobody that I
know of has said "that US slavery was OK," and when you call someone who has
NOT said that an idiot for allegedly having said that, it is you who becomes
not only an idiot but also a slanderer.

[[ Moreover, no one on Vision 2020 is capable of censoring anyone. That's
what
is great about this forum, and different from RightMind and Blog&Mablog. ]]

If you think it's great that people can make idiotic assertions and slander
with impunity, then yes, I'd have to agree there is a lot of greatness on
V2020. It's a greatness that I'm glad Right Mind and Blog & Mablog "lack."
