I just know you didn't factor this in:

Illegal Shoots Deputy in Face
An illegal immigrant with a lengthy criminal record has been charged with
shooting a Wisconsin sheriff's deputy in the face and killing him.
Ezeiquiel Lopez was charged in the death of Kenosha County Sheriff's Deputy
Frank Fabiano, according to WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee. A criminal complaint says
Lopez admits to drinking tequila on the night of the murder and doing
cocaine. But he told investigators that he doesn't remember shooting anyone.
Lopez's criminal record includes:
? In 2001, he was arrested in Utah for lewd and lascivious conduct.
? In 2003, he was arrested in Texas on a gun charge.
? In 2003, Lopez was picked-up in Missouri for OWI.
? In 2004, Kenosha Police arrested him on charges of domestic battery,
disorderly conduct, bail jumping.
Despite his contact with law enforcement authorities, he was never deported.
"We can find no record of having had contact with this individual before or
having had him referred to us by another law enforcement agency," Tim Counts
of Immigration and Customs Enforcement told WTMJ.

(Is it so rare in European countries that it is not even recorded?) Only the
U.S. and the UK came up and the comparisons are stunning.

per year. The comparable figure in the UK is 1.8 per year.

30-1 ratio?
First, we have five times the population of Britain, which brings the
ratio down to 5:1. Second, since you specifically mentioned "shot", we
have legal guns, and Britain does not. Problem solved.
