[Vision2020] The Schwaller Returned to Capistrano

"I'll just speak for our church, in Christ Church. If I found out that a
member of our church or a church officer was lying to non-believers in the
community, as a way to get by or protect themself or protect his reputation,
yes, he'd be disciplined."

Mr Herodotus and Visionaries,

If I have offended anyone with my "lapse of reason", "rude, "venomous"
little fit", or "petulance" I offer my apologies. However, I didn't
think I was "accusing everyone right and left of wrongdoing" nor was
I intending to make "reckless, unqualified statements, which
essentially blasted EVERY ONE (caps added) in the forum?"

You are correct: I did, in an earlier post state that "Vision 2020
seems to be a very partisan group of Moscow residents designed to
discourage public information . . ." In a subsequent post I thought I
had made an apology, and made it clear that it was " the surly,
disparaging, derogatory remarks A FEW (caps added) individuals make
about others' beliefs, actions, or writings on which I have focused."
If that point was missed or unclear, I apologize.

I will NOT apologize for encouraging posters to reign in on such
remarks. Perhaps I'm just thin skinned, but having to resort to those
tactics just bothers me. To help all Visionaries, I will keep that
"bother" to myself (and no, I am not being petulant, I'm just willing
to stop further belaborment (??) of the point of which I think we are
ALL tired).

Oh, except I DO have to belabor just a bit: I find it ironic you call
me on the carpet for asking for civility and respect on this site by
refraining from character assassination, then jump to calling Doug
Wilson "one of Pavlov's dogs with a bad case of rabies; instead of
salivating when he hears the bell, he froths at the mouth, shows his
teeth, and growls." Yes I know it's a metaphor. For me, it just has
no "punch".

As long as I'm on roll: "you have convinced me that you're too
immature to hear them (many things) all at once" Now, my feelings are
not hurt by this, and I would think many posters would disagree that I
am to immature to face what you (or anyone) has to say. What I don't
understand, and what I object to, is that kind of sarcastic,
meant-to-be-demeaning-take-THAT! kind of language. Is it accurate?
Does it make one want to say "hey! he has a point!" From my
perspective, is not, and does not. But hey, that's just me.

You are correct; I did offer up John 8:7 inappropriately and as such I
twisted scripture to fit my perspective. May it serve as an example
to see just how easy it is to make that mistake. I apologize, and
will attempt to not do that in the future.

Whew! Now I have to go back and reacquaint myself with the arguments
you made in yesterdays post so I can engage them.

No, no, no, I'm NOT trying to make a statement - I just think it's funny.

your part; so I shall limit myself to three points and proceed delicately.

because whenever called to account for his obvious failures, Doug Wilson
invariably throws a fit and begins accusing everyone right and left of
wrongdoing. It is really quite a remarkable phenomenon to behold. The man is
like one of Pavlov's dogs with a bad case of rabies; instead of salivating
when he hears the bell, he froths at the mouth, shows his teeth, and growls.
Thankfully, 2020 has witnessed few of his outbursts for some time; few, that
is, until yesterday when you reacted to my post right on queue. So I
encourage you to deal with your obvious bitterness before it spreads out of
control.

> Second, I note that you apologized to me for "venting" when you should
have apologized to the entire listserv for your rude, "venomous" little fit.
Your behavior was completely inappropriate and not conducive toward civil
dialogue. Admittedly, we have a local church in town that encourages
petulance such as yours; however, this listserv is for the most part
dedicated to reasonable exchanges, with perhaps a few exceptions. So I
encourage you to apologize to the entire list, which you specifically named
during your fit of rage, so that no one will think you a hypocrite. After
all, you demanded that Messieurs Fox and Hansen apologize to the whole
bulletin board for statements that you deemed offensive; how much more
should you have to apologize for your reckless, unqualified statements,
which essentially blasted every one in the forum?
>
> Third, I note that you tagged your tirade with John 8:7 and I confess that
you appear somewhat confused, because YOU were the one throwing stones
yesterday. Please remove the rock pile that covers your post and reread it.
Then apologize to the list for twisting Scripture during your "I am not Doug
Wilson; I just act like him," panic attack.

> Well, as I said, I have many things to say but you have convinced me that
you're too immature to hear them all at once; perhaps tomorrow, after you
have apologized, we may pick up where we left off and you can tell us by
what standard you attribute "some modicum of sincerity" to an apology
delivered by the psychopath Sitler? and by what standard do you ask
Messieurs Fox and Hansen to apologize?
>
> After that, maybe you will be kind enough to engage the arguments I
advanced in my post yesterday, which sent you over the edge into your "I am
not Doug Wilson; I just act like him" eruption.
