[Vision2020] Are we living in the best possible time?

Do you think we are living in the best possible time? People in the past do not have the advances in technology that we enjoy and take for granted. People in the future might enjoy better technology, but they have to deal with environmental problems and global warming, a reduced quality of life, and a very overcrowded world. So are we living in the happy medium of the benefits of both worlds without the major negatives?
