Oh, of course, we have to maintain the empire's presence in the vital
region. Especially since Rumsfeld signed the closing orders for our
permanent bases in Saudi Arabia (on Sept 12th or 13th, 2001, although it
wasn't announced until 2003). Of course any relation to this being
exactly what Bin Laden was demanding is purely coincidental.
