I have many people in my family that are disabled; anything from
developmental disabilities to sight impairment to cancer. Each of them has
had to deal with explaining to people why they have to do this or wear that
or why they talk like this. NOT ONCE has anyone treated them in such a way
as to cause this kind of fuss and noise. But there have been times when
they could not be accomodated in the way they either would have liked or
needed to be. The best way to handle it was/is to explain things and most
times things work out for the best. When it does not work out for either
party, the solution has been to just leave the business and not return.
NEVER has anyone thought to lie about the incident(s).

Most people understand when you tell them "I'm sorry, but my __________ is
handicapped and is not in control of (this/that)." Had the owner been
informed that the disabled person he had forced upon him by not being
properly monitored by the "companion" NONE of this would be the main point
of conversation this long afterwards, but less a focus of some bogus
protestation. Seems to me all this fuss and crap should be heaped upon the
shoulders of the "companion" - the one that WAS in control of
himself/herself. Instead, they made a bad situation even worst by calling
and chewing out the owner and then exaggerating the situation and flat-out
lieing about what really was done and said.

Get a grip, folks....this is one business that desperately needs our support
and understanding. Especially since most of us were not there and really do
not, obviously, have all the facts. The "companion" obviously has a lot to
answer for and it is him/her that I would like to see get called on the
carpet for all of this.
