You did not like the message, but that is no reason to blame the messenger.
I thought the Daily News article was even-handed.
For example, you say it is unfair to call a person "severely disabled" and "non-verbal" if they can live independently only with daily assistance and whose only word is a greeting of hello. To me, that is a good definition of non-verbal.
There is no question that miscommunication and non-communication is the core of this controversy, but I do not think bringing the issue into the open through the Daily News is the problem.

I find it interesting that the person who wrote the article in the Moscow Daily news didn't bother to verify any information or at least practice some sort of fact finding, like for instance if this person "D" was "severely disabled" and "non-verbal" then how did this episode take place, how did he say "Hey Hey Hey" to the waitress and how did he move about and become so active if he indeed he is that "severley disabled" and if you read the email submitted by the "Daughter" at 5pm last night on vision2020, "D" in fact lives on his own, yeah that is severe all right!
What disturbes me the most is the author of this article gave credibility to this Mr. Hopper and is indeed as guilty of ruining Archie's on the Square's reputation as the person who decided to take his personal agenda to the streets of Moscow.
I am saddend that such good people have been drug through the mud and the Moscow residents will ultimetly suffer if they in fact manage to ruin the business of good caring people. To bad for the ignorant I guess!

Thank you, Laurie. Sadly, too many of the people on this list have
self-inflicted disabilities of deafness and blindness. They prefer to
believe evil of people rather than good. What sort of odd perversion
is that?
