Why are the people of this country so willing to give up basic freedoms
to fight some over-blown threat? What happened to dying to protect
liberty and freedom? Why would any citizen of this country allow our
government to track every citizen, to listen in on their private
conversations, to put whomever they want on an arbitrary list that stops
their movements in the country with no way to fight it if they are
wrong, to manipulate the populace into fighting a war that had nothing
to do with it, and to be able to hold whomever they want in detention
centers where they can torture them and where they are not allowed to
defend themselves? All the while raking in the cash?

It's like a guy in prison making a deal with the meanest SOB in the
prison to protect him from a cellmate that is rude to him.
