Hi Pat,
It looks to me like you fixed it :-) Although, I'm sorry to hear your
laptop's encounter with water :-( On the bright side, at least your laptop
booted up after the water, even though it's making noises -- the fact that
it will boot at all sounds encouraging to me!
My 'puter has been giving me fits recently (it's literally begging me to do
a wipe & reinstall, but who has time for that?!), so I wasn't sure if it was
you, me, or some ghost in cyberspace.
Good luck with getting your laptop checked out, and thanks for un-confusing
my mind!

The problem may be that silly Pat dropped water in her lap top recently. I
just checked my date and time and it was very wrong so perhaps I have fixed
it, I hope. I'm going to have someone look at my lap top soon because it
makes loud noises as it is loading up. Please let me know if it isn't right.

I'm curious if anyone else is having problems with Pat's emails? I
keep missing her posts as there seems to be something very odd about the
dates in the message headers. I dont typically use html for posts, but to
make it easier to see what Im talking about, Ive bolded whats confusing
the heck out of me.
For instance, here's the pertinent part of the header for her post
below:

Clearly, I dont think Pat is prescient about this stuff a full 7
years before the posts to which she is responding are being sent J
I guess what Im trying to figure out is if the problem is with her
machine, with my machine, or with something else altogether? Any ideas?
TIA,

"In just 20 or 30 years Iran has gone from six children per woman to
two. In
other words, the U.S. now has a higher fertility rate than Iran. Now
that's
of interest in its own right, but it also means that in 15 or 20
years,
you're going to have far fewer young men of the sort who represent
the
violent , active militant groups. It's quite likely that there will
be a
decline of religious conflict."

I am not sure why you keep posting this quote from Doug but you need
to know
that a good many are looking at this sort of demographic. One of the
processes is that the Muslims in many former Soviet countries are
have lots
of children but others are not so soon we could see some serious
changes in
other countries also. What we think we know today will need to be
carefully
watched and we need to be flexible. So is it that Doug is aware of
these
changes and you are not willing to accept he may know something you
don't?
Or do you keep posting this so that we will all have the info and be
sure to
understand that changes are coming and many people are studying it??
