Not necessarily the City Police Department, but I believe that it was the City Council of the town of Greenleaf, ID that made headlines this spring for passing a ordinance requesting that every head of household purchase and retain firearms for the protection of the community. The ordinance said something like buy guns, get trained on how to use them, and then use them if needed to protect your family and your town. I could be wrong though." 'Politics is the art of controlling your environment.' That is one of the key things I learned in these years, and I learned it the hard way. Anybody who thinks that 'it doesn't matter who's President' has never been Drafted and sent off to fight and die in a vicious, stupid War on the other side of the World -- or been beaten and gassed by Police for trespassing on public property -- or been hounded by the IRS for purely political reasons -- or locked up in the Cook County Jail with a broken nose and no phone access and twelve perverts wanting to stomp your ass in the shower. That is when it matters who is President or Governor or Police Chief. That is when you will wish you had voted." - Hunter S. A couple questions, Kai (although they
have been asked and not answered):
Could you explain to us how introducing
more firearms into the public venue is going to reduce the number of violent
crimes?
Can you provide us evidence that ANY city’s
police department encourages its citizenry to purchase and possess firearms?

Saundra,
Huh? Where did I "defend" an obvious hoax?
I merely pointed out that real, live, verifiable cases of people defending
themselves with a gun actually DO occur.
On a fairly regular basis even.
It was YOU who decided to use the typical radical left wing tactic of using a
child's death to try to make a point. (Just like the typical radical right wing
tactic of saying immigrants are ruining the country)I used the fact that a very
high number of children die from drowning, which, like firearm deaths, are
completely preventable.
Unfortunately, the CDC doesn't give a complete age breakdown on firearm deaths.
(People 20 and under are considered "children") I used to have a
better age breakdown, which showed more young kids died of drowning in the home
than did by firearm. If I run across it, I'll post it.
You, Saundra are the one who used the terms "gun nuts" and
"anti-immigration nuts".
Sorry, I'm not the nut here, I advocate the legal and responsible possession
and use of firearms. Including the right to defend oneself from intruders.
I also advocate legal, responsible and steady immigration into this country,
NOT the sieve we've got now.
My case isn't weak, it is lawful. The rightful and just application of law
should ALWAYS trump emotion and party dogma.

is free of party thought is one free to think independently."
