"I have not so fond memories of snow blowing through the windows onto my
English papers, listening to the ceilings falling, no bathrooms, staircases
threatening to collapse as classes changed, and a Senior physics project
involving a worn-out pool table in a storeroom on the top floor."

Then, what you are saying, Kit, as Arnold would look at it:

You had access to a low-maintenance facility, complete with air conditioning
and a student recreation room (with a pre-installed pool table).

Is that right?

And another thing: If the Moscow School District is serious about saving
money and preserving energy, why don't they simply stop paying their utility
bills. After a while Avista will cut off their gas and electricity, thus
saving energy, not to mention the money they would save by not paying their
utilities to begin with.

Seeya round town, Moscow.

private schools like Logos prosper through tax exemption."

Just to date myself: I believe my class ('71) was the last graduating
class to use the 1921 building for classes (which means students in
the classes of '72 & '73 may also have used it). I have not so fond
memories of snow blowing through the windows onto my English papers,
listening to the ceilings falling, no bathrooms, staircases
threatening to collapse as classes changed, and a Senior physics
project involving a worn-out pool table in a storeroom on the top floor.
