[Vision2020] Conciliation Petition

Sue,

I apologize for calling you Suzy. I meant no disrespect. I though people called you that.

And a raped woman can press charges, and is often blamed for causing trouble, that is why so many rapes are not reported.

Personally attacking Dr. Wietz seems like the best thing to do for MSD because the facts of the case don't help their side.

My hope, Sue, when a wrong is done is that is it illegal. Otherwise, we have unjust laws.
I don't want someone to suffer Sue, I want the suffering to end. I believe everyone suffers when they are unjustly taxed.

Yes, there was an election. Saddam was also elected. But the levy election only received 52% of the vote for a M&O suppliment. It did not receive a 2/3 vote since last century for the original amount. I never got to vote on it because I was a minor in 1992. Now I am a middle aged man, but the last time we got to vote I was a minor. It is time for a chance to vote. How long should I have to wait to get to vote? Should I be collecting Social Security befor we re-vote on the original levy from 1992? Should only every other generation get the right to vote on what their taxes should be? I think that seems to be your what you are angling at, Sue.

  Best,

  Donovan

MSD has already held an election. It passed. With public support. That's the only way levies pass--with public support. As to your second paragraph, I'll just point out that rape is a felony and the people who drag a rapist into court are the police.

Additionally, you write as though it is apparent MSD broke the law and Gerry Weitz is trying to make things right. Believe that if you wish--seems to me you hope MSD broke the law. You want someone to suffer. Wouldn't it be a more compassionate position to hope they didn't and that the court decision will bear that out?

  Sue

  Keely writes,

"it was Gerry Weitz who dragged this into court, and it is Gerry Weitz who is responsible for the litigation"

So according to Keely's logic, if a woman is raped and that woman drags him into court, it is her fault for the litigation, not the rapist?

Seems to me, when the law is broken, it is the fault of those that broke the law for the litigation, not the ones that try to bring it to justice.

If MSD broke the law, they should be held accountable.

MSD is being sued because of their actions, not Dr. Weitz. Anyone in the public has the right to sue and for the same reasons as Gerry. It is just that Gerry is the only with enough balls and resources to do what is right.

It is obvious why MSD doesn't want to hold an election. They know they don't have the public support because they have not done a bang up job with all the money they have taken from the public.

  Best,

  Donovan

How about a petition asking that people not hold government agencies and the electorate hostage with fits of pique and petulance?

I am not in the Moscow School district, but I am interested in the MSD. I think that for the good of everyone involved this should be settled asap. Here is a petition available at four locations for people to sign if they would like to see this resolved asap. Lets not drag this out threw the court system and waste considerable time and money.

"We, the undersigned, strongly urge the Moscow School District
(MSD) Board of Trustees & Dr. Gerald Weitz to accept the "win-win"
conciliation proposal described in this petition. MSD and Weitz immediately
should initiate a conciliation compromise by entering into a binding legal
agreement whereby Dr. Weitz will drop his lawsuit. In turn, the Board must
agree to re-run the contested indefinite levy as an ordinary maintenance and
operations levy. Such a conciliation compromise would leave intact the 2007
- 2008 MSD budget submitted to the State Department of Education on June
27."
