[Vision2020] Ichabod, Mr. Schwaller, your house is left unto you desolate

Attention Visionaries and Mr. Schwaller,

I call your attention to a brief comment written by
Pastor Gary Johnson on the blog Green Baggins, which
he wrote yesterday as the fallout continues from the
PCA’s overwhelming repudiation of Pastor Douglas
Wilson’s “Federal Vision” a couple of weeks ago.

Johnson’s comment is important for a number of reasons
— and most notably for the one not mentioned. A couple
of years ago he participated in a summit of Reformed
leaders who met to discuss various issues plaguing the
Reformed church, and the final issue on their agenda
was the plague Doug Wilson. And these leaders
concluded the same remedy to their problem as everyone
else who ever dealt with Wilson — NO DIALOGUE. Do not
talk to the man; he is reprehensible. Or to paraphrase
Hosea, “Mr. Schwaller is joined unto idols: let him
alone.

So during their meeting, the leaders of the Reformed
church decided to isolate Wilson in Moscow where he
can rule his own little Tyler, Texas, the town where
theonomy enjoyed its heyday for a few years before
completely melting down. And the PCA’s vote
represented a huge step forward in the marginalization
of Pastor Wilson.

Disenfranchised indeed. Behold, Mr. Schwaller’s house
is left unto him desolate.
