How about moose? I have had two encounters. One, I was stalking a herd of elk to photograph back by Red River (the same summer as the OJ thing). Unbeknownst (sp?) to me, there was a moose with a calf that I didn't see in the woods (I was stalking on the edge of a HUGE meadow. It isn't easy to run with a really long lense on an SLR camera. No pictures that day! The second one was behind Elk River and I was hiking with my wife (before kids). I picked out a tree real quick. He came toward us and acted like he was going to charge but didn't (thank God!). We waited a l o n g time for him to meander off before we did anything.

My question is, did I/we do the right things?
