[Vision2020] Da Bears

Hey all you football fans, when the Super Bowl is done and Chicago wins you might enjoy reading Friday Night Lights. I grew up in San Angelo, Texas and was a rabid fan of high school football. finally adopting a more reasonable approach to the sport and its consequences for young men, when I moved to Idaho. I haven't watched either the TV series or the movie, but the book is a worthy read. Not as intellectual as some of the tomes you recommend, but still enjoyable, or not, depending on your response to it. And now I'm in the middle of Things Fall Apart, one I should have already read but haven't. What else are folks recommending?

And my reason for not supporting New Orleans: well once a long time ago when Morton Andersen was playing for the Saints, I had lunch with him and my niece--he was her date, not mine, and he was an arrogant ass. Of course he has probably grown up into a fine middle age fellow and kicker who still gets in the game, but that's no le hace to me....

Go Seahawks--next year.

Sue

  Matt,

I do watch football when I can. I am sure I do not follow it as much as you do. Bottom line is that the Bears beat my Seahawks and the Pats beat my Chargers, so naturally I want them both to get an ass whippin.

I want the Colts and Saints to go. Neither has won the Superbowl. I think who ever wins the AFC will win the Superbowl.

If I was a betting man, I would bet on the Colts, but then again, I thought either the Chargers or Baltimore would win the Superbowl this year.

Football and basketball are the only sports I really like. And baseball isn't a real sport unless bowling is also.

  Best,

  Donovan

    Dono,

C'mon man your killing me. Do you even watch football. Every single city has
booed their team at one point or another. Believe me I watch more football
then most if not all on this site.

I would like to see a "virgin" team of the SB win it for their first time,
but not this year. The Bears haven't done so since 85 season. Wouldn't that
    classify as a new team?

Anyways no hard feelings. Hell it's only football. Wait a minute, It's the
    Bears here. GO BEARS

DA BEARS most hall of famers of any team
    Matt
