[Vision2020] URGENT BULLETIN...

Hi, Don -

Nice nearing from you.

By "Christian Fundamentalists" you wouldn't be referring to such
single-celled amoeba as Bryan Fischer:

- Founder of Keep the Commandments Coalition (a failed attempt to keep a
biblical monument in a Boise city park).

- Who, in 2005, "was forced out as the pastor of the Community Church of the
Valley - 'It was the difference of opinion over leadership,' he says,
declining to elaborate - before starting the Idaho Values Alliance that
November" (from the 2/24/2007 Spokesman Review).

- Who has been quoted as saying, "You take a Judeo-Christian world view, and
you expand it far enough, eventually it's going to intersect with policy,"
(again, from the 2/24/2007 Spokesman Review).

- Whose Idaho Values Alliance professes "'removing savage beasts from the
land' is a reward bestowed upon an obedient people" (and yet again from the
2/24/2007 Spokesman Review).

- Who has been promoted and quoted repeatedly and infinitely (ad nauseum) on
a local self-serving BLog almost to the point of unqualified worship.

Is it that type of "Christian Fundamentalist" to which you are referring,
Don?

I'm sure that the racist Muslim bashers on this post will flame me for this
but I'm concerned that the discussion of violence caused by religious
fundamentalists is being too one sided.
We all know that of course it was Muslims who assassinated all of the
abortion doctors in the U.S., that blew up the Southern Black Churches, that
immolated Hiroshima and Nagasaki, that firebombed Tokyo and Dresden, that
are currently kidnapping so called terrorists in other nations-sending them
to third nations for torture while violating the very principles of the
American democracy, who until recently have lynched black Americans for
decades, who for centuries kept black Americans in slavery, who revolted and
committed treason against this country, and who currently are involved in
actions which have been dubbed American Fascism.
I have no truck with terrorists but we have enough blood on our own hands
that I think we need to be very careful about racism and intolerance. I
wonder if the Patriot Act could be turned against different groups if a
different party were to be in power--maybe against the Christian
Fundamentalists. Be careful what powers you grant to the government because
as power shifts they may be turned against the very group that enacted them.

Wow! Thanks Nick for advising us that we were all wrong when it came to
those peace loving Muslims. Golly, how could we have overlooked the truth?
Everyone knows, afterall, that the loonies who brought down our twin towers
were Christians and Jews. Why, those humanitarians who worship Allah had
nothing to do with it.

Gee whiz, it sure is humbling to be corrected by such an incredible scholar
like you.
