My nephew was in Iraq for 2 tours and he wanted
reading material of any kind, gatorade or something to
add to the water, letters, dry soup mixes (basically
anything that could be mixed with water to get
something that tastes different than MRE's), little
debbie snack cakes (but don't get the chocolate ones,
they'll melt), jerky, gum, granola bars, soap, etc. 

Two things you shouldn't send, in order to be
culturally sensitive to the country, are PORN and
PORK. And that's enough on that subject =)
